Bangladesh, Sept. 3 -- Two people have been killed after a Dhaka-bound Panchagarh Express train collided with a dump truck at a railway crossing in Gazipur city.
The accident happened around 11:30pm on Tuesday near Akkas Market, Joydebpur Railway Junction Station Master Mahmudul Hasan said.
The victims were identified as Babul Khan, 55, from Abdullahpur in Dhaka's Uttara Kamarpur area, and Ujjal Hossain, 37, from Poyla Purbapara in Manikganj's Gior. Ujjal was driving the truck at the time of the crash.
Station Master Hasan said the Panchagarh Express ploughed into the soil-laden truck as it was crossing the tracks in the Akkas Market area.
The truck overturned, killing both men instantly.
