Dhaka, March 29 -- Two people have died after allegedly consuming spurious alcohol in Bogura.

Two others who fell sick after the liquor consumption are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Bogura Sadar Police Station chief SM Moinuddin said the incident had occurred in the city's Thanthania Bottola area on Friday night.

The deceased were identified as city residents 35-year-old Aurangzeb Chintu and 30-year-old Rasel, identified by a single name.

Another man who provided a single name, 56-year-old Pilu and 30-year-old Sony Das from the area have been hospitalised.

Pilu, who is undergoing treatment at Mohammad Ali Hospital in Bogura, said: "Rasel bought a bottle of alcohol from No. 1 Rail Ghumti area in the city on Thursday afternoon. ...
