Dhaka, June 26 -- Two more people have died of Aedes mosquito-borne dengue fever in the past 24 hours while 195 new patients have been admitted to hospitals with the disease.

With the latest deaths, the death toll from dengue has climbed to 38 this year. Of these, 15 died in June.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) daily bulletin on Thursday, a total of 9,065 dengue patients have been identified in Bangladesh so far this year.

This figure does not include infected people who did not seek hospital care or undergo testing.

Both of the deceased in the past 24 hours were undergoing treatment at hospitals in the Dhaka South City Corporation area.
