Dhaka, Nov. 16 -- Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, chairman of the Trinamool BNP, has announced his retirement from politics.

On Sunday night, he said, "I have fully retired from politics. I am now not involved in anything."

Asked why he was stepping down, Mobin, who transitioned from diplomacy to politics, cited health reasons, saying his decision was prompted by "physical and medical concerns".

This is the second time the politician announced his retirement from politics.

He had previously announced his retirement after resigning from the BNP on Oct 28, 2015.
