Bangladesh, Aug. 21 -- International Crimes Tribunal-2 has indicted 16 people in connection with the killing and burning of six bodies during the July Uprising in Dhaka's Ashulia, paving the way for the trial to start.
The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, issued the indictment order on Thursday after rejecting petitions from the accused seeking discharge.
Of the 16 accused, eight were produced before the court, including former additional superintendent of police (ASP) Abdullahil Kafi, former ASP (Savar Circle) Shahidul Islam, former Detective Branch inspector Arafat Hossain, sub-inspectors Malek and Arafat Uddin, assistant sub-inspector Kamrul Hasan, Abzal Hossain, and constable Mukul.
