Dhaka, Feb. 21 -- The government will soon introduce multiple train services on the Mongla-Khulna rail route, Road Transport and Communications Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam has said.

Speaking to journalists after his first official visit to the Mongla Port, the minister also announced a 180-day priority plan to bring radical changes to the port's management.

Highlighting the need for better regional infrastructure, he said the government is prioritising the construction of a suspension bridge over the Mongla River.

"We are working to launch multiple trains on the Mongla-Khulna route as quickly as possible," Shaikh Rabiul said.
