Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- Agitating students of Government Titumir College have blocked railway tracks at Dhaka's Mohakhali over the demand for upgrading their institution to a university, causing a nationwide rail communication shutdown via Tongi Junction.

Due to the blockade, several trains are stuck at various stations including Kamalapur, causing inconvenience to passengers.

The Kamalapur Railway Station Master Md Anwar Hossain said as of 5:45pm on Monday, six trains were stopped, with several others unable to enter Dhaka.

"Trains including the Silkcity Express, Kalni, Jamalpur Commuter, and Sirajganj Express have not departed yet. Similarly, these trains are stuck at various stations on their way to Dhaka."
