Dhaka, March 19 -- Two carriages of a freight train have derailed as they were entering Dhaka's Kamalapur Railway Station, suspending rail service. As a result, train service towards Dhaka was suspended for nearly two and a half hours, while train service leaving Dhaka was suspended for over one and a half hours.
Md Anowar Hossain, station master at Kamalapur, said on Wednesday: "The last two carriages of the No. 605 Container Train from Chattogram derailed around 11:30am. The two carriages at the end went off the tracks after it passed the Khilgaon Rail Gate and just as it was arriving at the station. Our people are working to solve the problem. Recovery work should be completed soon."
