Dhaka, April 3 -- Rail service on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route has been disrupted after a fire broke out on the Mohua Commuter Train's power carriage in Gazipur's Sreepur.
The district's Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Mohammad Mamun said the fire erupted at the Upazila's Satkhamair Rail Station around 10:30am on Thursday.
No casualties were reported immediately.
Mamun said, "The power car of the Mymensingh-bound Mohua Commuter Train's caught fire when it reached Satkhamair. Upon getting the news, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames after an hour-long effort.
"Efforts are being made to recover the train."
