Dhaka, Jan. 20 -- The Appellate Division has upheld the constituency boundaries for Cumilla-2 as redrawn by the Election Commission ahead of the 13th parliamentary election.

A three-member appellate bench led by Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury passed the order on Tuesday.

During the 12th parliamentary election, Cumilla-2 consisted of the Homna and Meghna Upazilas. However, for the upcoming election, the Election Commission revised the boundaries on Sep 4, defining the constituency with Homna and Titas Upazilas.

Homna Upazila BNP President Mohammad Mohiuddin filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the decision.
