Dhaka, April 21 -- Three quick strikes have given Bangladesh some early hope on Day 2 of the opening Test against Zimbabwe in Sylhet.
Nahid Rana struck twice - first as Mominul Haque took an excellent low catch to dismiss Ben Curran (18) and second as danger man Brian Bennet (57) edged it to Jaker Ali behind the stumps. Hasan Mahmud got in on the action too, getting through the defence to bowl out Nick Welch (2).
At the end of 23 overs on Monday, Zimbabwe stood at 92-3, trailing Bangladesh by 99 runs.
A batting collapse on Day 1 had seen the Tigers bowled out for only 191 runs in the first innings. A promising start by Bennett and Curran had seemingly left Bangladesh in dire straits at the close of play on Sunday.
