Dhaka, July 10 -- Three members of a family have suffered burn injuries after a fire that sparked from a gas cylinder in the kitchen of a house in Dhaka's Jatrabari.

The injured have been admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in critical condition.

The fire broke out from a leak in the gas cylinder in the kitchen around 1am on Thursday, said Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the emergency department of the institute.

Ripon, 40, his wife Eti, 30, and their four-and-a-half-year-old daughter Rafia suffered burns in the fire. They were admitted to the hospital at 2am.
