Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- At least 50 people were injured in a three-hour clash between two groups in Bahubal Upazila of Habiganj, triggered by a quarrel between two children.

On Tuesday, police said the violence broke out at Madhyabazar from 7pm to 10pm following growing tension between residents of Baraiuri and Bahubal villages.

Locals said both sides used homemade weapons during the clash. Several seriously injured victims were admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital, Bahubal Upazila Health Complex and Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, while others received first aid locally.

Army and police personnel brought the situation under control around 10pm.
