Dhaka, Jan. 12 -- Three people have reportedly died after consuming bootleg liquor in Rangpur Sadar and Badarganj Upazila.

Of them, two died at Nayapara of Kishmat Basantapur village in Badarganj, while the third death was reported from Chandanpat Union in Rangpur Sadar on Sunday night, according to local police.

The victims in Badarganj were identified only as Sohel, 30, and Alamgir Hossain, 40, both residents of Gopalpur Union. The third was Dindar Rahman, 41, from Chandanpat Union.

Badarganj Police chief Hasan Zahid Sarker said Sohel and Alamgir had bought rectified spirit from Zainul Abedin on Sunday afternoon. They died at home later that night, although the matter only came to light on Monday morning.
