Dhaka, July 7 -- Three more people have died of dengue in a daily count, taking the tally of fatalities from the mosquito-borne illness this year to 48.

As many as 492 new patients were hospitalised across the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of hospital admissions this year to 12,763.

Of the three people who died, two were from the Barishal Division and one from the Khulna Division, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed in a bulletin on Monday. All of them were under hospital care.
