Dhaka, May 13 -- A 15-year-old boy has allegedly killed his two aunts after they caught him attempting to steal money from them to "buy an old bicycle" in Dhaka's Shewrapara.
On Monday, Detective Branch (DB) Joint Commissioner Mohammad Nasirul Islam said the teenager was identified after reviewing CCTV footage of the incident.
The victims were Maryam Begum, 60, and Sufia Begum, 52, who were found in West Shewrapara on May 9.
Police later arrested and questioned the teenager, who "confessed" to the murder.
The bodies of Maryam and Sufia were found on Friday at house No. 649 in West Shewrapara.
Maryam, an assistant director of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), retired in 2021.
