Dhaka, Dec. 4 -- The Indian Border Security Force has reportedly killed a Bangladeshi tea worker in Moulvibazar's Kulaura Upazila.
Kulaura Police Station chief Omar Faruq Mondol confirmed the incident occurred along the border in Muraichhara on Thursday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as Sukhiram Urang, 25, a resident of the slum in the Muraichhara tea garden.
Sukhiram had gone to herd cows in his own land when the BSF started firing indiscriminately at him, said the police officer.
Sukhiram had tried to save his life by running away but failed, he added.
He was shot in the back and declared dead when locals took him to the Kulaura Upazila Health Complex, according to police.
