Dhaka, Oct. 7 -- BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has outlined his party's plans for the education sector, promising to establish a high-level commission for the nationalisation of teachers' jobs and an education reform commission to overhaul the curriculum if his party comes to power.
In a virtual address on International Teachers' Day on Tuesday, Tarique said the BNP aims to "build the nation" through education, calling for the teachers' "full cooperation".
He said, "Many of you have mentioned the nationalisation of teachers' jobs, and some have called for including more educational institutions under the MPO. Beyond this, other demands are on the table from private teachers as well."
