Dhaka, Dec. 14 -- Tarique Rahman has urged professionals to help secure a strong public mandate in the parliamentary election, warning that a government formed on weak support would struggle to carry out many of its tasks.
The BNP's acting chairman made the appeal while addressing a views-exchange meeting with professionals in London via video link on Sunday night.
The Election Commission announced the schedule for the national election and the referendum on Thursday, setting the date for voting on Feb 12.
