Dhaka, Dec. 10 -- Tarique Rahman has called on retired military officers to support the transformation of Bangladesh into a democratic and accountable state at a meeting with over 100 former officers.
On Tuesday night, speaking virtually from London, he addressed the meeting at the BNP chairperson's office in Dhaka's Gulshan, where he also spoke about Khaleda Zia's attendance at the Armed Forces Day event.
During the session, several retired officers urged the acting BNP chief to return and take leadership of both the country and the party.
A few others requested that BNP Chairperson Khaleda, currently in critical care at Evercare Hospital, be treated within the country rather than sent abroad.
