Dhaka, Dec. 2 -- The government is ready to provide "special" security to those who need it, Home Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said regarding Tarique Rahman's homecoming.

His comment came following a core committee meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Reporters asked him about the BNP acting chairman's security upon his return to Bangladesh.

Noting that the core committee did not discuss the issue, he said: "There's no security threat for anyone in Bangladesh. On security issues, we're ready for everyone. The Ministry of Home Affairs is ready for everyone. Especially those who need something special, we're ready for it."
