Dhaka, Dec. 26 -- Tarique Rahman, who returned from self-imposed exile in London after over 17 years, is set to enrol on the electoral roll on Saturday.
Voter registration is mandatory to contest in the general election, which is scheduled for Feb 12.
The BNP's acting chief is also expecting to receive his national identity card on Saturday.
The last date for candidates to collect their nomination papers to contest in the general election is Dec 29.
Supporters have already bought nomination papers on behalf of Tarique from Bogura-6 constituency.
The election schedule was announced on Dec 11.
