Dhaka, Nov. 23 -- Tarique Rahman has pledged to build a "justice-based" Bangladesh guided by the ideals of the "Prophet Muhammad" if the BNP returns to power.

He made the promise while addressing the National Imams-Khatibs Conference 2025 on Sunday.

"Even during the Jahiliyyah era (age of ignorance), those who opposed the Prophet recognised his justice. Muslims, and non-Muslims alike, had no doubt about his fairness," Tarique said.

"Preserving this ideal of justice in state and governance will be the BNP's guiding principle, In Sha Allah. In the next elections, we seek the prayers and support of all respected imams, khatibs, muezzins, scholars, and spiritual leaders to establish a justice-driven Bangladesh."
