Dhaka, Jan. 20 -- BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has promised flats, schools and healthcare for Korail slum residents in his Dhaka 17 constituency, seeking their prayers ahead of the Feb 12 election.

Speaking at a prayer gathering on Tuesday at Mohakhali T&T Colony ground, organised to seek blessings for late BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, Tarique said he wanted to ease the hardships of Korail dwellers by building multi storey buildings and registering flats in their names.

"Those who have lived here for many years will be given flats so they have a place to call home in Dhaka," he said.
