Dhaka, Jan. 27 -- BNP chief Tarique Rahman has left Dhaka for Mymensingh to attend an election rally, marking his return to the district after more than two decades.
His motorcade departed his Gulshan residence around 11am on Tuesday.
Tarique is scheduled to address the rally at the historic Circuit House ground at 2:30pm in what will be his first visit to Mymensingh in 22 years.
The district BNP unit has completed extensive preparations for the event. A stage measuring 64 feet in length and 44 feet in width has been constructed for the programme.
His speech will be broadcast through 70 microphones and displayed on four LED screens - two positioned on the stage and two on either side of the ground.
