Dhaka, July 5 -- Tanvir Islam's web of spin has propelled Bangladesh to a thrilling 16-run victory over Sri Lanka in the second ODI, keeping the three-match series alive at 1-1.
The visitors successfully defended a modest 248-run total at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday.
Playing just his second ODI, Tanvir finished with 5 for 31, rattling Sri Lanka's middle and lower order after Kusal Mendis' brisk fifty.
Janith Liyanage kept the chase alive with a gritty 78 off 85 balls, but Mustafizur Rahman nailed the penultimate blow in the 48th over to shut the door.
With the series now level, the decider will be played at the same venue on Tuesday.
