Bangladesh, Aug. 27 -- A group of "suspicious individuals" has reportedly opened fire on Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf before fleeing across the border into Myanmar.
The BGB later recovered several weapons and ammunition from the scene, which it believes were stockpiled for potential terrorist activities or sabotage.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Kharer Dwip area of Hnila Union in Teknaf, according to Lt Col Mohammad Jashim Uddin, commander of Ukhia 64 BGB.
"During a special operation on the river in the Kharer Dwip area, the BGB detected the presence of some suspicious individuals," Jashim said.
