Dhaka, June 19 -- A suspect in a case over the kidnapping and murder of school student Jishan has fled from police custody at the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's court.

The suspect was identified as Shariful Islam. He fled the lock-up at the jail at 11:40am on Thursday, according to Sub Inspector Md Ripon Molla of the lock-up.

Judge Sheikh Samidul Islam was to hear testimony in the case on Thursday and suspects Shariful and Shahin Mandul had been brought to court from Kashimpur Central Jail accordingly.

Later, they were taken to the dock. Additional District and Sessions Judge of Jashore and former Dhaka additional chief metropolitan magistrate Zakir Hossain Tipu appeared in court to give testimony.
