Dhaka, Nov. 25 -- Superintendents of police (SPs) have been selected for all 64 districts through a lottery ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections next year.

The lottery was held at the State Guest House Jamuna, the official residence of Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, on Monday, according to several police sources.

"The selections of 64 district superintendents of police have been finalised through a lottery," said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali, who attended the lottery, on Tuesday. "However, no decision has yet been made regarding the DMP."
