Dhaka, Nov. 22 -- A bus has been engulfed in flames on a street in Dhaka's Mohakhali.

The incident occurred near Bottola around 9pm on Saturday, near the Department of Disaster Management.

The cause of the fire and any casualties were not immediately known.

Billal Hossain, a witness, said the fire broke out suddenly. "It seems there were no passengers inside the bus," he added.

This incident comes amid a spate of vehicle fires and crude bomb explosions across Dhaka over the past week.

The most recent incident was on Wednesday night around 10pm, when a bus operated by Victor Transport caught fire outside the BTV building at Rampura. The bus was charred, but no one was injured.
