Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- Education cadre officials appointed to teaching positions are conducting a work stoppage at government colleges to protest the "attack on teachers" at Dhaka College.
They are also holding a sit-in demonstration while wearing black badges.
Principal Hafza Begum of Mohammadpur Government College said no classes are being held at the institution as the teachers are on strike.
She told bdnews24.com, "We are shocked by yesterday's horrific incident at Dhaka College. That is why we are observing a day-long strike."
No classes or exams were held at Eden Women's College due to the strike by education cadre officials. Classes were also suspended at Dhaka College.
