Dhaka, Dec. 10 -- Ahead of the announcement of the election schedule, student advisors Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and Mahfuj Alam have tendered their resignations.

On Wednesday evening, the Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed their resignations in a briefing at State Guest House Jamuna.

"The two advisors submitted their resignation letters at 5pm. Their resignations will take effect as soon as the Election Commission announces the schedule."

Asif Mahmud had been serving as an advisor to the local government, rural development and co-operatives divisions alongside the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Mahfuj was an advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
