Dhaka, Nov. 23 -- Thirteen Army officers have been taken to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in a case over their alleged involvement in enforced disappearances and crimes against humanity committed during the 15-year rule of the Awami League government.

They were brought to Tribunal-1, headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, in a prison van amid tight security around 10am on Sunday.

Before that, Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police personnel were deployed to strengthen security near the tribunal and in the Mazar Gate area.
