Dhaka, Feb. 19 -- The government has launched an initiative to supply protein-rich food items at subsidised prices to low-income people during Ramadan, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock, Agriculture and Food Sultan Salauddin Tuku has said.
On Thursday, he said the programme aims to include nearly a million families across the country.
He outlined the plan at the inauguration of the subsidised milk, eggs and meat sales at the Livestock Research Institute in Mohakhali.
He said, "The plan will have a positive impact on price control in the market and ordinary consumers will also benefit."
