Dhaka, Feb. 4 -- BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is travelling to Barishal after two decades before Feb 12 elections.
He is scheduled to address an election rally at the historic Bells Park grounds in Barishal city at 12pm on Wednesday.
The visit has stirred excitement among local BNP leaders and activists, many of whom see the rally as a symbolic return of the party's top leader to a region long associated with the political legacy of former president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
Barishal District Volunteer Party convenor Rafiqul Islam Joni said supporters were eagerly waiting to hear Tarique's message.
