Dhaka, Nov. 27 -- The country's lowest temperature has been recorded in Moulvibazar's Sreemangal.
On Thursday, the mercury dipped to 12.5 degrees Celsius at 6am, according to Dilip Vaishnav, an observer at the Sreemangal Meteorological Observatory.
It is the lowest temperature reported anywhere in Bangladesh so far this season, and also the chilliest reading in Sreemangal since the onset of winter.
Officials said the cool conditions are likely to persist for several more days.
Despite the morning chill, sunlight began breaking through shortly after 7am, bringing warmth to the town.
Earlier, a dense fog had blanketed the tea estates and surrounding rural areas.
