Dhaka, March 7 -- The Bangladesh Civil Service (Health) Cadre Specialist Doctors Forum has announced a three-day strike from Saturday demanding promotion.

The forum's press release said a two-hour strike will be observed in government hospitals for three consecutive days from 10am Saturday.

However, emergency department services will not be part of the programme.

The press release also warns of an indefinite full-day strike if the demands are not met.

The Specialist Doctors Forum has additional demands, including the elimination of intra and inter-cadre discrimination.

They also demand the promotion of all qualified doctors who have attained the third grade to the second and first grades after completing a specified period.
