Dhaka, May 19 -- BNP leader Ishraque Hossain has demanded the resignation of some members of the interim government, questioning their impartiality.

He made the accusation in a Facebook post on Monday amid the ongoing movement demanding his swearing-in as the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Ishraque said, "The main objective was to bring out the ugly truth of the greed for power and its perpetuation from some members of the interim government.

"Their identities must be exposed for the sake of democracy and voting rights.

"By attempting to block the BNP mayor in Dhaka, they've made clear the role they intend to play in the next national election."
