Dhaka, March 8 -- Police detectives have arrested six people over the armed robbery in Dhaka's Banasree, where a businessman was shot before being robbed of cash and gold.
The arrests were made on Friday night, according to Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of the media and public relations wing of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, or DMP.
Law enforcers also recovered the stolen gold jewellery and illegal firearms from the suspects.
DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali will provide details at a media briefing later on Saturday.
The robbery took place around 10:30pm on Feb 23 when gold trader Anwar Hossain was about to enter his home on Road No. 7 in Banasree's D Block.
