Dhaka, Jan. 31 -- To facilitate travel for Biswa Ijtema attendees, metro rail authorities have decided to operate six additional coaches daily alongside the regular service.
The special trips have been in operation since Friday, the first day of the Ijtema, Abdur Rouf Talukder, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, or DMTCL, confirmed.
He said, "We are not extending metro rail service hours for Ijtema. However, six additional coaches will run at different times within the scheduled hours.
"These extra trips will help ease congestion for attendees travelling to and from the Ijtema ground."
