Dhaka, Oct. 28 -- Two people have died and two others suffered injuries after being shot by a rival group during a clash over the occupation of char lands at the Padma River's confluence in Rajshahi's Bagha Upazila.
Bagha Police Station Inspector Suprabhat Mandal said that the incident occurred on Monday while the victims were cutting fodder on the char land.
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital spokesman Shankar K Biswas confirmed that two people with bullet wounds are currently undergoing treatment in the surgery ward.
The deceased have been identified as Aman Mandal, 35, and Nazmul Mandal, 26.
The injured are Muntaj Mandal, 32, and Rabik Hossain, 18. All of them are residents of the Neech Khanpur village in the Upazila's char area.
