Dhaka, June 21 -- A video of Shariatpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Ashraf Uddin with a woman has sparked widespread discussion and criticism.

On Friday, an expatriate journalist posted a 57-second video on social media, alleging that the Shariatpur DC had misled the woman with false promises of marriage.

bdnews24.com was unable to verify the video independently. Ashraf was unreachable despite multiple attempts to contact him via his mobile and WhatsApp.

Local journalists managed to speak with the woman seen in the video. Although her family is from Mymensingh, she currently lives in Dhaka with them.
