Dhaka, June 25 -- Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has made a major leap in the ICC Test batting rankings, climbing 21 spots to 29th after scoring centuries in either innings of the drawn first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Shanto, who struck 148 and 125, became the first Bangladeshi to score two centuries in a Test match more than once, and only the 16th captain in Test history to do so.
His standout performance was reflected in the latest weekly rankings by the ICC on Wednesday.
Mushfiqur Rahim also moved up 11 places to 28th after his commanding 163-run knock in the first innings and 49 in the second.
Shadman Islam climbed three spots to 55th after scoring 76 in the second innings.
