Dhaka, May 10 -- Protesters have continued to block the Shahbagh intersection in Dhaka for the second day demanding a ban on the Awami League, leading to severe gridlock and suffering for commuters.

On Saturday, the crowd at the protest was slightly smaller than the previous day.

Despite the traffic disruption due to the blockade, ambulances are being allowed to navigate through the roads, ensuring that emergency services can continue to operate, according to a protester, Fahim Hossain.

He said, "We will continue the protests until the Awami League is banned. But people are suffering because of this. The sooner the government comes to a decision, the better it is for people."
