Dhaka, April 29 -- A sublime century by opener Shadman Islam has propelled Bangladesh to a commanding position against Zimbabwe on the second day of the series-deciding Chattogram Test.

The left-handed batter showed remarkable composure and almost impeccable shot selection to anchor the innings, reaching his second Test century off 142 deliveries with a majestic drive through the covers. His knock was studded with 16 boundaries.

The hosts reached 150 for 1 in 42 overs as Shadman (101) was forging forward with Mominul Haque (9) with sights set on a big first-innings total to capitalise on the visitors' modest first innings total at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Tuesday.
