Dhaka, Feb. 6 -- A group of people have used a bulldozer to demolish the residence of Awami League leader Abul Hasanat Abdullah on Kalibari Road in Barishal city.

Witnesses said around 12:15am on Thursday, over a hundred people arrived at Serniabat Bhaban with a bulldozer from the city corporation and began the demolition.

Former MP Abdullah, who is also the president of the Awami League's Barishal district unit and a relative of Sheikh Hasina, lived in the house with his son, former Barishal city mayor Sadiq Abdullah.

Around 1:45am, the group moved towards the residence of Amir Hossain Amu on Bogura Road with the bulldozer.
