Dhaka, April 3 -- Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have exchanged greetings during a formal dinner at the BIMSTEC summit in Bangkok, Thailand.
The two leaders, seated side by side, were seen engaged in conversation for some time on Thursday, according to officials.
"The two leaders met at the BIMSTEC summit dinner in Bangkok today and they exchanged greetings," Shafiqul Alam, the chief advisor's press secretary, told Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
"Both leaders were seen talking closely for some time at the dinner."
Speculation has been mounting over the possibility of a formal meeting between Yunus and Modi on the sidelines of the summit.
