Dhaka, March 29 -- Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday as the Shawwal crescent moon has been sighted.
The moon was sighted on Saturday evening, leading to the announcement by the country's highest authorities, according to the Saudi Gazette.
Muslims in the country will complete 29 days of fasting on Saturday and perform the Eid prayers on Sunday.
Typically, the crescent moon is sighted in Bangladesh one day after Saudi Arabia.
This year, the fasting month in Bangladesh also started a day later than in Saudi Arabia.
In Bangladesh, the National Moon Sighting Committee will meet on Sunday evening to review reports of the Shawwal moon sighting across the country and announce the official date for Eid.
