Dhaka, Oct. 16 -- Vote counting has begun at Rajshahi University four and a half hours after balloting concluded for the student union, hall councils, and senate student elections.

On Thursday, the RUCSU Election Commission announced that counting started at the girls' hall. Completing the entire process and announcing results could take 12 to 15 hours.

Voting commenced at 9am on Thursday and continued without any major incidents or irregularities until 4pm.

Elections were held across 17 centres in nine buildings. Nearly 29,000 students exercised their franchise for the first time in three and a half decades.
