Dhaka, Dec. 31 -- Robi Axiata PLC has expanded its safe drinking water initiative at railway stations, providing purified water to passengers at 10 major hubs across Bangladesh.
Under its "Nirapod Pani, Shustho Jibon" (Safe Water, Healthy Life) initiative, launched in 2011, Robi has installed water purification plants in partnership with Bangladesh Railway and WaterAid Bangladesh. The first facilities were set up at Kamalapur and Dhaka Airport stations.
The programme now covers stations in Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Mohanganj, Feni and Cumilla, supplying an estimated 1.2 million litres of drinking water daily.
Each installation is designed to serve more than 450,000 users a year, the company said in a media state...
